We’ve been loving YAWstore’s new vegan flatforms every since Sally brought some along as a wedding gift for our designer Lizzie at her hen do recently!
100% vegan, designed by Sally Cole in the UK and made in a small factory in Portugal, Sally’s brought real transparency to an on-trend style. She explained her inspiration behind the shoes:
“Finding stylish vegetarian and vegan shoes is a problem many people know too well. For 20 years I have been vegetarian and struggling to find shoes I found ethically sound and aesthetically pleasing. I’ve also worn plastic shoes and felt guilty for the ecological impacts of them – or worn second hand leather shoes and been limited by choice.
YAWstore’s shoes aim to be as ecologically sound as possible as well as being vegan. Cork has been sourced locally to the factory with canvas trim. Cork is a great alternative to leather as it is durable, naturally waterproof and above all ecologically sound. We look forward to building on this first collection with new materials and styles!”
With a start as good as this, we can’t wait to see what lies ahead in YAWstore’s footwear department.
