ANTIFORM D.I.Y WEDDING!

When our founder and creative director Lizzie and her boyfriend (and long term Antiform handyman) Dave finally decided to tie the knot this year after a decade together, it was obvious the wedding was going to be a colourful affair. However, for both of them it was also really important to make the day as low impact as possible.

Following the deep rooted design approach of Antiform to use local skills and materials Lizzie incorporated Antiform’s DIY, low-waste ethos into the big day:

“I decided that at the heart of the day was that, like with Antiform, I wanted to source everything I could from independent local producers and that I didn’t want anything left at the end which had to be chucked away.

Our amazing wedding invitations were designed and hand screen printed in Bristol by Old Market Printing Co. The decorations were made from cans and jars (from the recycling bin!) and materials from Bristol Scrap Store which could be recycled afterwards. All the food came from local farm shops cooked by an army of relatives, and we served with beer from Dave’s Brewery, Dawkins Ales. As for my outfit – I wore a vintage dress which my Granny used to wear to parties, which I remodelled to fit.

My favourite bit of the whole process was going out together the evening before we got married and picking flowers from the hedgerows for the tables.”
