THE EVENT: Eco Design That Can’t Be Contained

This Thursday 24th, Glasgow will be getting a new addition to its Commonwealth celebrations – celebrating conscious, ethical and sustainable design with a unique new pop up shopping event in Merchant City.

A former shipping container (that’s large scale upcycling for ya!) will be dropped down onto Hutcheson Street to host the event from the 24th until 3rd August – selling a beautifully edited mixture of design led, ethically and sustainably sourced fashion, art, homeware and lifestyle products from our lovely stockist Think Boutique, Rapa Nui Gallery, The Top Project, and allenomis. Many of the products for sale are exclusive to the pop up and cannot be bought anywhere else in Scotland – think modern design with environmental responsibility; upcycled, fairtrade and organic clothing and accessories, bright pops of colour, futuristic shapes, one off designs and gorgeous fabrics.

What really makes this pop up event stand out from the rest is the special programme of events they’ll have going on. Here are the facebook events for you:
Saturday 26th July, 10:00–18:00: Kids’ up-cycling art workshop
Sunday 27th July, 12:00 onwards: Clothes Repair Café
Saturday 2nd August, 10:00–18:00: Lino and block printing workshop
Sunday 3rd August, 10:00–18:00: Fashion clothes swap

Keep up to date with the event over at the Refashion Glasgow facebook page.
